Welcome to the Social Science Department!

Through taking courses in the Social Sciences, students will learn an appreciation of the historical antecedents of the world in which they live. Students have the opportunity to take classes in World and American History, Economics, American Government, Comparative Religions, and Philosophy. The goal is for our students to:

Understand the origin and development of complex social processes.

Place the problems and issues of social interaction within a global and historical context.

Critically analyze social problems and evaluate alternatives solutions, making appropriate use of statistics.

Apply perspectives from different academic disciplines to social issues.

Identify, research, and report relevant changes is social organization and structure, using effective writing and the resources of the Internet.

Our mission is to better prepare the students to be able to enter successfully the competitive world outside the classroom. Please do not hesitate to contact any of the instructors in the Department if you have any questions about their classes.
