Personal Fitness Personal Fitness is a mandatory High School requirement. The text that will be used for this course will be Personal Fitness For You written by Roberta Stokes and Sandra Schultz. Most of the material that will be covered will come directly from the text with hands-on labs accompanying most of the chapters. The course is intended to empower the students with the knowledge needed to help them lead a healthy and stress-free life style. Several guest speakers have been scheduled to help assist in the learning experience. The guest speakers include a physical therapist who will help assess the students overall fitness levels, a local tri-athlete who will show how to set up a effective training program and a registered nurse who will address the nutritional needs of today’s youth.
