Coach Joe Collis I grew up in Manatee County where I graduated from Manatee High School in 1993. I then went on to Manatee Community College where I played baseball on a full scholarship for two years. I then continued my education and playing days as a scholarship player at Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon, GA. We won the NAIA College Baseball National Championship in 1997. The following year I was hired on as an assistant baseball coach and finished my Bachelors degree in Health & Physical Education. After teaching high school for 2 years in Manatee County I decided to enlist in the United States Coast Guard where I served four years. When my four years were up in the Guard I decided to return to teaching and was very lucky and honored to be chosen to work here at SMA. This is my third year here at SMA and I look forward to many more. I live in Manatee County with my wife Kate and daughter Jordyn. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, riding motorcycles, various sports, and working. I look forward to teaching each and every one of your children.
