What a great time the cadets had with the Rate a Recipe project!  The first step entailed a field trip to Publix to "shop" for the ingredients to one of their favorite home recipes.  Cadets recorded their data on a shopping data sheet.  Next, each cadet solved problems involving various rates to determine the price per serving, as well as the cost to serve 30 people.    Another aspect of this project involved the incorporation of  SMA's reading and written communication goals by having each cadets describe what they learned from the experience.

How do we use inequalities in the real world?  The No Sweat project incorporated formulas and inequalities to help cadets see how weight and age affect physical fitness and health.
