My name is Casey Garrett. I was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida. I graduated from Sarasota High School. I am a recent graduate from the University of South Florida. I got my Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. I was also a student athlete in college, playing soccer all four years. I initially signed right out of high school with the University of South Alabama, then a year later transferred to USF. I was very fortunate to get an opportunity to travel the country in college while playing soccer. I believe that participating in team sports my whole life and at the collegiate level has built my character and taught me discipline through hard work and commitment. I learned many of these traits as a young girl from my father, Wayne Garrett, a member of the 1969 World Champion New York Mets. I have been blessed with the opportunity to meet some of the best athletes because of my father and I have received great advice from the best of the best. Right now I am coaching volleyball, soccer, and softball at Sarasota High School. I am enjoying teaching and coaching right now, it gives me an opportunity to pass on what I have learned in both my educational and athletic experience. I hope I am able to be a positive roll model for my students so they too can be successful in their pursuit to further their education or start a career.
