2/22/10  Parent Note

We have just passed the half-way mark for this quarter.  You will soon receive your child's progress report.  All were given an option of receiving a print-out that reflected the mid-quarter grade.  Hopefully your student brought this home.  Some were given a tutorial requirement for this week, because their grade is below 70%. This tutorial is mandatory.  Most are above this mark.  

There are lots of grades still out there, so don't give up at this point - or assume too much.  I am in the process of grading the essay they turned in recently and all have been assigned the new Literary Analysis Research Paper (due 3/15).  English III is finishing up on The Scarlet Letter and English IV has just received their Shakespeare play.  

Remind your student to have you sign their QRA sheet and bring it on Mondays to have it checked. Today the page completion number is at 400.  The whole project is due on 3/19.  If  your child reads 1000 pages and completes all required documentation, then a grade of 100 will be given in this 10% catagory.  There are bonus points available for those who go beyond this amount and some of the class reading will be added by me.
