Teaching at Sarasota Military Academy nicely integrates my love of teens with my passion for writing, literature, and the language arts. It also throws in a practical use for the military exposure I have gained through the life choices of my two daughters. SMA is committed to the original purpose of public education, which was not primarily vocational, but rather to educate the people of the United States so that they could become better citizens.
The courses I teach each semester may vary, but my commitment to assist young people in the noble quest of becoming skilled, educated, citizens of purpose and character never does. To this end, I have posted daily agendas, course requirements, assignments, due dates, handouts, and whatever helpful information I can assemble. When the school, teacher, parents, and student actively work together, success is an attainable goal for every student.
