Language Arts Curriculum

The English Department at SMA uses the Language of Literature series (McDougal/Littell) as the primary textbook for each grade level, as well as Prentice Hall’s Writing and Grammar: Communication in Action.  Course content aligns with the District’s curriculum and is taught using these materials, as well as a variety of FCAT preparatory texts, novels, and articles drawn from numerous journalistic sources.
