Current Events Information
JROTC
Communication skills are critical in our society. As the “sender or transmitter” of the information, both written and verbal tell the “receiver” something about our education level.
Weekly current events develop these communication skills, and improve your writing confidence. As your oral presentation improves, you believe in your own ability to speak and brief an audience.
TOPICs will vary. You must choose one of the following topics IF NO TOPIC given to you by me the Wednesday 1 week prior: Military, Government, Politics, Economy.
Let the written report be a representation of you and through it, sell yourself to all those who read it.
Possible 100 points:
WRITTEN REPORT – Opening, body, conclusion it effects you (60):
Grammar and neatness = 20 points
Content = 40 points
30 SECOND PRESENTATION (40)
No reading report; brief it.
Opening, highlights, then conclusion.

Late C/E - lose 10 pts employability (preparation)
Available pts for the C/E reduced to 70 pts (50 written, 20 Brief). IF YOU ARE ABSENT ON WEDNESDAY, YOU MUST BRING IN YOUR CURRENT EVENT IMMEDIATELY UPON RETURN TO SCHOOL TO RECEIVE FULL CREDIT
