Adventure Opportunities

The SMA JROTC Adventure Program serves all SMA Cadets by providing outdoor activities that include High Adventure Backpacking in the Appalachian Mountains, Leadership Development with the US Army, and the New River Adventure in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Other activities include marksmanship shooting, repelling, climbing and much more.

Trip participants vary by activity and location. Trips are designed to accommodate certain grade levels. Most require cadets to be in good physical condition. All SMA JROTC activities are well supervised and chaperoned. For most trips, a mandatory pre-trip meeting provides important information to cadets and parents.
