Testing Information
· PSAT results will be received in December. Mrs. Clapp will be returning the results to the students with their test booklets. She will be explaining how to read the results and how to access My College Quickstart online, which is a website that is available to those who took the PSAT. It is one more tool to explore colleges and careers. (In addition, we have several other tools on our school website in the Guidance Team section).
· FCAT reading and math retake results should be received by early December. A parent may access a child’s score by going to www.FCATParentNetwork.com and using the code which was mailed to you as part of the report card information. If you need help accessing the information, please call the guidance department and talk with Mrs. Marx.
· Juniors and seniors, remember to sign up for SAT and/or ACT. We recommend that you take both because some students perform much better on one than on the other, and the best way for you to know which one is easier for you is to try them both. Practice before you take the test. Read the tips for testing in the Guidance Team section of the SMA website. We have study guides in the guidance office. Pick one so that you can practice and get information about the test. Remember that there is approximately a 3 month turnaround each time you take the test – register the 1st month, take the test the 2nd month, and receive the results the 3rd month. Take the tests as soon as possible so that you have time to get the results and practice before you take the test again.
