Scheduling
NEW SCHEDULING PROCEDURES FOR 2011-12
Since we are always looking for ways to give our cadets opportunities to accept responsibility and exhibit good choices and maturity we have developed a new procedure for scheduling.
Also, because we are giving the students their actual schedule, we anticipate that the only schedule changes that occur at the beginning of the school year will be as a result of teacher recommendations or ramifications of FCAT results and/or grades. This will enable everyone at school to be engaged in class work immediately at the start of the new school year, with a minimum of interruptions.
Each SMA Cadet will be meeting individually with his/her school counselor during his/her 2nd period class to create his/her 2011/2012 schedule. The day after they make their requests, students will receive a printout of their schedules and a letter to the parents explaining the new schedule change standards. Please ask your cadet for this information.
Parents are invited to schedule a follow-up meeting if they have any questions or concerns about their cadet’s schedule. When making an appointment, in order to avoid backup and allow the counselors time to meet with parents who have requested a meeting, please make an appointment during the window of time that the counselors are scheduling that grade level.

We plan to meet current SMA cadets according to the following schedule:*
Rising Seniors: 2/14- 3/18
Rising Juniors: 3/21- 4/21
Rising Sophomores: 4/25-5/13
