Born in North Tonawanda, NY, Major Hall enlisted in the U.S. Army immediately following high school in 1978.  He attended Basic Training and Military Police School at Fort McClellan, AL and then attended the K-9 Handler course at Lackland AFB, TX.  Mr. Hall was assigned to the 6th MP Company and then to the 295th MP Company at Seneca Army Depot, NY.  Hall re-entered the Army in 1985 and served as a chaplain’s assistant after attending the school at Fort Monmouth, NJ.  He was assigned to the 4th Transportation Command Chapel until 1988 when he left the Army.  Major Hall made a change in his life by attending Niagara County Community College (NY) and graduated with an Associate of Science – Music degree in 1996.  He attended SUNY Buffalo for one semester and was a trumpet, voice and music education major.  Mr. Hall was selected to be the baritone soloist for the college’s presentation of Gabriel Faure’s “Requiem.”  The following year was accepted to the SUNY Fredonia School of Music as a music education major studying trumpet with Dr. Wade Weast and Peter Lindbloom.  Previously Mr. Hall studied trumpet with Gerry Soffer and Phil Christner, both of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.  Hall also studied voice with Dr. Sylvia Dimmizziani.

 

    Major Hall began teaching in 2000 after being selected to become the Assistant Director of Bands at Jamestown High School (NY) where he started the Jazz Ensemble and a Winter Color guard program. Mr. Hall also taught at Newfane HS (NY), Northeast HS (FL), and Gaskill MS (NY) and has been at The Sarasota Military Academy since 2004.  Major Hall resides in Sarasota with his wife Susan.  He has two sons, Brendan age 18 (WI) and Madison age 9 (NY) as well as a step daughter Danielle and a step son Todd.  He also has three wonderful dogs, Prince, Half-pint and Max.
